DRAW FOR SATURDAY The management committee of the Whakatane Rugby! Sub-Union met in the Grand Tea Rooms last night, those''present being Messrs W. S. Henderson (chairman). F. J. Peebles (secretary), W. Sisam, T. H. Gee (Taneatua) 5 J ...Conolly, J- T. While (City), L. Ormond (Referees), J. Hohapata (Pai'oa). A matter which has been before several meetings was taken in hand when it was resolved to set up a coin mittee to draw up a new constitution for the union. The committee is Messrs Henderson, Peebles and Ormond. The draw for Saturday is: Seniors, Paroa v Poroporo. Juniors, Star v Taneatua. Both games are at Whakatane. The other teams have notified their withdrawal ''from the competitions. On September 23 the Maori-Pakeha game for the Jackson Shield will be played. The shield is at present held by the Maoris. Accounts amounting to £8 14s 8d were passed for payment. The case of T. Tunui, who was ordered ofY on Saturday for arguing with the referee in the City v Poroporo game t was considered and it was resolved that Tunui be severely cautioned. The linal meeting of the union for the season will'be held on September 127 at Taneatua.
