A recent issue of the New Zealand Gazette, notifies that Herbert Wedgwood Brabant of has been appointed 2nd Lieutenant, and has been, posted to the Ist Battalion Haufaki Regiment,.

Reference was made at Monday night's meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council to the death of Mr H. G. Otlcy, Christchurch, father of Cr G. Otlej% and the council stood in silence for a moment.
