TOTALISATOR TURNOVER
For the past three years totalisator receipts have, in the majority of cases, shown increasing totals. Th'j Inst racing fixture, that of the Egmont.Wanganuj Combined Hunt Clubs meeting, registered the sum of £7J37 in advance of the previous year. But a change may come over the scene, for war regulations now being applied under several headings in the Dominion may mean decreased attendances at meetings; many owners may decide, to withdraw their horses from training through costs and transport difficulties; while many now connected with the sport may for a time* be among those called up for the defence of the country. Under these circumstances the march of progress in respect io totalisator turnovers, may be at least checked.
