OTAKIRI BRANCH MEETS

The monthly meeting of the Otakiri Women's Institute was held recently when Mrs Turnbull presided over an attendance of seventeen mem bers and friends. All present answered the roll call "My. Favourite Song.'' A short talk on "Robin Hyde" and her works, illustrated by a descriptive extract was given by Mrs Kedgley. Competition results were as follows: Wholemeal scones, Mrs G. Marrav 1: Mrs Martin 2; Mrs Whiteside and Mrs Kedgley 3 equal. Jar of Spring Flowers arranged for effect, Mrs Kedgley 1; Mrs Turnbull 2; Miss Pinkey 3. Best bloom, Mrs Turnbull 1, Mrs G. Murray and Mrs Hampton 2 equal; Miss I. Murray 3. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames W. Murray and Woods.
