LAD ADMONISHED A boy aged 15 years who appeared before Mr J. H. Luxford ) S.M.j in the Whakatane Children's Court charged with driving ( a motor vehicle at Te Teko on May 20, and not having a driver's license, and also with driv. jUig a vehicle not covered by a warrant of fitness, was admonished and discharged; BREACH OF ORDER Pere Hone Mejhana appeared in, the Whakatane Magistrate's Court on Wednesday charged with entering licensed premises while prohibited and with a breach of his prohibition order. He was convicted on each charge and ordered to pay costs, amounting in all to £1 15s. GARBAGE DISPOSAL A .new process for the disposal of city refuse and household garbage by converting it into valuable manure. and so abolishing unsightly incinerators, was described by Mr E. P. Nicholson, a Christchurch busi« nessman, who returned recently from Australia. He said he saw this process in application in North Sydney, where it was the accepted method jof disposing of garbage, and he was most impressed by it. He said the refuse was mechanically sorted to remove metal objects, a nd was then inoculated with a certain type of bacteria, which in, 20 hours reduced it to a clean, odourless, granulated compost manure, of the type gardeners referred to as humus. There was; no smell or smoke or other nuisance, emitted in the process. The process was able to deal with all ordinary garbage, from waste paper to dead' flogs, provided it was of an organic nature. '
