A thousand-acre pig farm capable- * of producing IO.'OOO baconers a has been established on Wheely Warnford, near Southampton, England.. Scientific feeding methodsand treatment are in operation. of 'the scientific measures employed is the spraying of pigs'with a blend--ed oil, which has a pleasant taste anda rich odour, causing the animals to lick each other instead of fightiug when mixed together. Thus, a factqrin the loss of weight when large num bers are assembled together is removed . Careful records are kept ot the pigs' food, their droppings, their urine and their blood samples--are all analysed and recorded, ancT post mortem examinations are conducted on, every pig killed for ill*, health.
