RUGBY FOOTBALL
GAMES ON SATURDAY The Wliakatanc Rugby Sub-Union executive held its fortnightly meeting at the Grand Tea Rooms, Wha. katane, last night. Those present were Messrs W. S. Henderson (chairman), F. J. Peebles (secretary), J. Hohapata (Paroa), J. T. White L. Ormond (re forces), W. Sisam, T. Cxce (Taneatua). Among other matters the draw for Saturday was discussed. Mr Hoha pata said that his senior team would prefer a bye as five members would be in the Matatua team to play in the Tainui Maniapoto match. It was pointed out that Saturday would be a benefit for the Rugby queen, and that a full muster of teams was hoped for. "Surely there are juniors who could fill up the ranks," said MiHenderson. "Wliakatanc, the team you are drawn against, will not be at strength, either.'-' It was eventually decided to ad. ♦ here to the draw, which is: SENIORS. Wliakatanc v Paroa; Poroporo •' Waimana; Taneatua a bye. JUNIORS. Star v Paroa; Taneatua v Old Boys (Taneatua); Poroporo v Old Bcvs Rescues. It was decided—that a telegram should be sent to- Waimana asking whether they would be in the Bracken Cup competition. The secretary was instructed to send a letter of thanks to Mr L. Preston for his exceptionally good work in coaching' the representative team?. He was also instructed to send letters of congratulation to Paroa an' to Taneatua for their success in the senior and junior championshijjs icspeetivelyv
