WAIMANA NOTES
FAREWELL EVENING (Beacon Correspondent) A pleasant evening was spent in the Waimana Hall recently to bul farewell to Mr and Mrs J. G. Mottram, Nukuhou North. Mr find Mrs Mottram have been farming in the Nukuhou North district for the past 36 years they intend residing in Auckland". The evening was spent al dancing, the music being supplied by Roy Parkcs and his rhythm vendors, Miss Agnes Ruff played an extra,! and Mr 11. Wardlaw capably acted as M. C. After a dainty supper had been served by the married ladies, Mr Ruff on behalf of all present presented Mrs Mottram with a travelling r.ug and a wallet of notes was presented to Mr Mottram with best wishes from all. Mrs Marrn, president of the Women's Institute asked Mrs Mottram •5 to accept a bouquet and an Institute silver spoon, from her fellow members with their best Avishes, the speaker emphasising how Mrs Mot. tram's help as a member would be missed. Dancing continued till a late hour, when Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem closed the evening. Among those present wore Mesdamcs Mottram, Cranswick, F. Eagle, King, Grovcr, McConnell, j. Stansbury. PERSONAL Mrs Bert Hughes, Waimana is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mr.s C. Such, Auckland, lias been staying with her mother Mrs F. Bell, Waimana.
