LOW PRICES OBTAIN The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports a,, good yarding of horses at the annual; spring horse fair held at Whakataue on August 15th. Although priceswere considerably lower than recent years, almost a total clearance re«sulted. In the unbroken section* ihe top price paid was 30 guineas for a 3 year pedigree filly on account of Sisam and Sisaim. Others ranged from £5 to £20 10s. Broken.in hacks. made from to £20.
