Members present at the annual meeting.■ on Monday night of the Whakatane and Rangilaiki Agricul-, tural and. Pastoral Association stood in silence for a moment or two in memory of Mi E. Law, a valued member of the society for many years. Mr Thomas Morgan, who for nine years has been Clerk of the Magistrate's Court ? returning officer for the Kaipara electorate, and registrar of births, deaths and marriages leaves at the end of the month, having been transferred to Whakatane to replace Mr J. J. List who has been transferred to. Gisborne. He was farcwclled on behalf of the Bench by Mr G. N. Morris, S. M., Ihe Bar (Mr F. S. Goulding) and by Justices (Mr J. 11.
