A mixed Star_Bue6aneer-City team looked like winning against Tancat ua in the senior game on the Domain, and they only missed bv one point. City held the upper hand in the first, half then relaxed slightly and came again with a rush at the. end, but Taneatua's defencc held. Pipe played well l'or and so did the Men to boys. Sisam was useful and Hnyward very vigorous. Barclay- showed good form for City and List was useful. F. Hollis made an excellent halfback. Jackson handled better at first five-eighths than usual, but lie held on a bit too much. Chambers was good whenever he touched the ball. Moore showed up well on" the wing. City played aga'nst the sun and the breeze. They were quickly on Taneatua's line, but Taneatna held them and in turn pressed untn City forced. D. Stewart introduced a bright movement when he ran down the line and kicked over the fullback. Jackson took a ball cleanly on the 25 and flew through to be stopped inches short under the posts but a moment later F. Hollis dumnred the whole Taneatua team for a try under the timber.
