GARDENING CIRCLE WOMEN'S INSTITUTE INTERESTS (Beacon Correspondent) The monthly meeting of the gardening circle of the Waima,na-Nuku-hou Women's Institute was held at the residence of Mrs Woolfield t last Wednesday afternoon. There was a very good attendance of members, who were presided over by Mrs Jerram. Miss Stansbury reod the minutes for the previous meeting and a letter was read from the Waiotahi gardening circle in connec tion with their forthcoming Spring Show, and asking for judges, several members offering their services. Mr« Burnett gave an interesting demonstration on- the making oi wax {lowers for floating bowls. During the afternoon, Mrs Jerram presented A\rs Mottram with a small gift from her fellow members, and wished her every happiness in her new surroundings. Mrs Mottram is to reside in Auckland. The guest of honour appropriately responded and thanked all for the lovely gift. The day's competitions were ns follows: Best flower, Mrs Stevenson 1 (Daffodil) Mrs Wool field 2 (Cam-c-lia), Mrs Jerram 3. Bowl of greenery, Mrs Mitchell 1, Mrs Stevenson 2, Mrs Burnett 3. A dainty tea was served bv the hostesses Mrs Eagle and Mrs King, which closed a pleasant afternoon.
