The Te Puke owned and Matamata trained King Rey registered a very sterling peiformanee by running second to Charade in the Jumpers* Flat of a mile and a half at the National meeting. He. was burdened with the welter weight of 11.13. carried out his share of the running; was stopped by excessive poundage; in the concluding run and traversed the distance in the exceptionally good time of 2.40 2-5. Judging by the weights still being allotted the Raceful representative he must still be considered by handicappers to be well up with the best horses in coia. mission in New Zealand.
