A YEAR OLDER
As from Tuesday last, August Ist, all thoroughbred equincs in New Zealand rank as a year older. Under this heading, from a racing point of view, the principal interest will b? centred in the racing of last year'.* juveniles who will now race as three year olds. Quite a dili'crencc in the form of man;/ candidates is often noticeable, brilliant two j'ear olds sometimes not performing up to their earl}' promise, while those previously not prominent in their racing efforts, and who may have had an easier time in consequence, sud.len!y striking form much superior, to be registered as winners of note.
