DIVISION DOINGS
TANEATUA BRANCH MEETS —fv There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Taneatua branch of the Women's. Division of the Farmers' L*nion t at which Mrs Hill presided. Quite a number of parcels were given to help stock the rest home at Palmerston North. Mrs Kill planted a rosemary bush in memory of the late Mn-> Ducker. Competition results were: Knitted cardigan or jumper, Mrs Grace 1, Mrs Frost 2. Madeira cake, Mrs Grace 1, Mi's Merrie 2. double, Mrs Munrfo 1, Mr.s Hill 2. Flowers single, Mrs Mitchell 1, Mrs Hill 2. ' Hostesses were Mesdamcs Farquhar Frost and Hill. present and Mrs Hallett was given a hearty vote of thanks. Mrs Le Lievre then made reference to the impending departure of Mrs Horwell, and expressed the good wishes of all present for her* happiness in her new home. Mrs Horwell was a valuable when all felt regret at losing. A small souvenir and a shoulder, spray were presented to Mrs Horwell, who made a very pleasing speech of thanks and was accorded musical honours. A wall competition was won by Mrs Crang. Mrs L. Wilson - then demonstrated silk_covered coat hangers and woollen bedroom slippers. This was a, very popular demonstration and many members learned to do the work. Mrs Jesperson sang "The End of a Perfect Day" very pleasingly. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses for the day, Mrs Learning, Mrs Forbes and Mrs Bartley. The meeting closed Avitli tli.c National Anthem.
