JUMPED FROM TRAIN

MAN HURT AT TE PUKE When ho jumped from the Taneatua express as it was pulling out of the Te Puke station, Mr G. Fairbrother, aged of Moeraka, suffered a fracture of the shoulder and head injuries -which necessitated liis removal to thc'Tauranga Hospital. Passengers on the express noticed Mr Fairbrothcr fall and informed the guard, who telephoned the Te Puke railway station from Paengaroa. The staff at Te Puke were about to organise a search for Mr when he appeared at the station after staggering about 100 yards down the line. Mr Fail-brother had intended to alight at Te Puke, but had fallen asleep, and the train was under way before he realised he had reached his destination.
