o A VISIT TO TAURANGA A striking comparison was maoc on Friday by Mrs J. W. Stewart a visitor to Tauranga prior lo her .leparture by plane for Auckland. ''You know," said Mrs Stewart, "the first time I visited Tauranga I came and left on horse back. Now I have flown to Taviranga and I am flying hack \o Auckland Mr,s Stewart does not recollect the exact year she first visited Taurangi but it was before llie Tarawera Eruption of 188(5. The party left Thames and proceeded to Taviranga, thencc to Rotorua and Lake Tarawera, where they were taken across by Guide Sop. and her six tall sons, in a whalv boat. The party bathed on the pink tcrraecs.
