ACCIDENT CASES

THREE CHARGES LAID The police brought several traffic cases before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court, Whakatane, on Wednesday. Abraham Moses, charged with failure to carry a w r arran,t of fitness for a motor vehicle was fined 10s with, £1 9s costs. Iria Te Paia for riding a motor cycle while not in possession of a driver's licence was convicted and ordered to pay £1 7s costs. Allan Warburton (Mr Otley) charg ed with failure to keep as close ns practicable to the left hand side of the roadway at Te Teko on May 13 pleaded guilty. Constable Cummin,gs said Warbur_ ton was a Gisborne resident. He had rumded a corner wide out and struck a motor cycle carrying two natives. The corner was a bad one. Mr Otley said Warburton was a stranger to the district. He hud come over to answer the charge and had lost two days* work. He asked for a light penalty. Warburton, -was fined £1 and costs £1 7s.
