BROKEN WINDOW
MAORI YOUTHS CHARGED A scuftle between two young n<n. tives, which resulted in the breaking of a, plate glass window, resulted in the youths appearing before Mr E. L. S.M., on charges of disorderly behaviour on May '20. They were Pat Watarawi and T. Ijer, and both pleaded not guilty. They •were convicted and each was fined £1 with £1 costs. The magistrate said that he would hot'make any order in respect to the cost of the window which amounted to £IG. The insurance company must sue for this, since there might be no negligence as one youth sa ! d he was pushed through the window.
