WAIMANA NEWS

GIFT EVENING (Beacon Correspondent) A most pleasant gift evening was held in the Waimana Hall recently, the guest of honour being Miss Mono. Fleming, who was a recent bride. The evening was spent at dancing, the music being supplied by Mr and Mrs King r Miss Wardlaw and Miss McConneli. Mr -H. Wardlaw capably carried out the duties of M.C. Miss Joyce Hodgson gave a clever exhibition of tap dancing and she received great applause. Vocal solos were given by little Monica Boynton and Mr M. Burke the items beifljg much appreciated. After a dainty supper had been served by the ladies, Mr W. Addison, on behalf of all present, asked Miss Fleming to come forward and accept the many valuable and useful gifts from those present, with their best wishes for her future life. Miss Fleming was also presented with a silver sandwich dish from the members of the Basketball Club, r with good wishes Mr R. Smith, on behalf of the guest of honour, in well chosen words thanked all for the beautiful gifts, which were much appreciated.
