■ —-—-o-—-J__ ■ EIGHT RUATOKI FARMERS GREAT BENEFIT FROM VISIT Great sucecss attended the Visit oT eight Maori farmers from Ruatoki to the Ruakura farm. Hamilton, last week and Mr J. Mcrritt, in chargeof the native developmental scheme, said yesterday that he expected the tour would fee of the utmost benefit, and that he hoped it would be possible to arrange for courses for Maori farmers next year.. The simple nature of the coursc, and the extraordinary amount of prac tical knowledge to be gained was stressed by Mr Merritt who sakl that he himself learned much. He expected that the whole party would profit from the experience. Mr Mcrritt said that'the instructors were the b6st practical men available and used lantern, slides and moving pictures freely. Four or fivo lectures were given daily, and these were interspersed with field study, all put jn the simplest form so that there was no difficulty in gathering the knowledge. All the party Mr Merritt took up worked very well and pleased their instructors. They came back to Ruatoki with notebooks bulging with in. formation and all firmly convinced of the value of the visit. »
