o Mrs F. Davie?, Nukuhou North, is on holiday in Wellington. Mr and Mrs E. D. Shcsvt, of Thorn ton, are spending a short holiday in Auckland and with them is thcii small daughter Marjoric. Mr A. G. Hultquist M.P. left by service car via Rotorua to Hamilton on Sunday and joined the Main Trunk express for Wellington at Frankto.i to attend the opening of Parliament on Tuesday. He will return to Whakatane next Saturday lor the weekend . Mr M. Vance Wilson, some years has been A.A. Patrol for the Ray of Plenty area, stationed at Whakatane. has received notification of his transfer to Auckland where he has . been promoted to the position of assistant engineer at headquarters. GISBORNE DAIRY SEASON Prospects in the Gisborne district appear good for the coming dairy season. As a result of the season last year being such a poor one. most ot the cows were dried off early with a long spell stock should come into production in good condition. The pastures have made a wonderful recovery, following the breaking the drought, and the growth is still continuing. The "secretary of the Kia Or a, Dairy Co reports that many mor<? cows will be brought into production this season.
