AID REFUSED TO INJURED MAN" STORY FROM TE PUKE ''I'm going to Whakatane; do what you like" a, motorist near Paen.garoa on Wednesday is alleged to have said after an appeal had been made lo him to take an injured man to a doctor. He is then stated to have driven away. The injured man Avas Mr Alfred Rhubee of Paengaroa who was travelling in a car driven by Mr Wilfred Mundt. At Steel's turn-off a bull was encountered and the animal, instead of running from the car, made a leap in the air ? landing on the bonnet and I badly denting it, breaking the wiiuL shield and showering the young men with splinters of broken glass. Rhubee received a deep and severe cut and was bleeding profusely when the Whakatane-bound motorist ca.n»e along and refused his help. Shortly afterwards Mrs W.- Godinagh came on the scene and she took Rhubee into Te Puke where he was attended to by Dr L. Randell. Sixteen stitches were placed in liis wounds..
