No motor vehicle can lawfully be used on the roads on June 1 unless ; t carries the black and orange number plates which the Post Office has commenced to distribute. No change has been made in th';s vear's relicensing form, although ccr_ tain increases in the third party insurance rates should be noted. The oairticulars required from the motorist have been reduced to the smallest number and they include mention of the only permanent identification marks on the average motor vehicle, namely, its engine and chassis numbers. Owners of several motor vehicles may present their relicensing forms i,n advance and the deputy registrar \v ill make' a check, allocate the number plates, and prepare a complete trvtement of the fees, the plates bo_ ng handed over when payment is nade.
