MATCH WITH OPOTIKI SHARING THE GATE The Whakatane Rugby Sub-Union was notified at its meeting on Moriday night at Ruatoki that the Opotiki Sub-Union would be willing ty send a team to play in Whakatane on June sth, King's provided that the gate was divided 60-40 that Whakatane returned the match later in the season, and that neither game was made a Parata Cup match. Opotiki could not send a junior team to plav a curtain, raiser. Delegates pointed out that Opotiki had always played Whakatane on th:* King's Birthday and the game was not in the past been returned in the same season. Mr W. $. Henderson suggested that Whakatane offer to return, the match to Opotiki within a month, each union to take the whole gate. It was decided that the matter be left in the hands of the chairman and secretary to make the best possible arrangements, and that an en. deavour be made to get a jimio l ' game with Rangitaiki. EXCELLENT MUSTER RUGBY MEETING AT RUATOKI Mr W. S. Henderson chairman of ■9 the executive of the Whakatane Rugby Sub-Union, at the close of Monday night's meeting at Ruatoki, expressed pleasure at the excellent muster of delegates. He hoped it would be maintained at future meetings.
