o WICKHAM LUK:-: '<■ i A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the residence of the bride's parents at Awakeri on Satut'da/ April f. 15. when Berta, twin daughter of a Mr and Mrs A. L. Luke, wms mar. ried to fourth son cf Mr Mrs C. E. Wickham of England. The Rev. A. D. Horwell conducted the service which took place in & secluded part of the garden making. , a most pleasing background for the bridal party. The wedding music was played by Mrs K. Stewart, arnit of the bride. The bride who was given away by her father wore a beautiful trained, gown of pan-velvet styled on Crechm lines with matching coat»e caught in front with a spray of orchids. - The tight fitting sleeves came to a point over the hand. Her veil of , tulle fell gracefully from a top-knot of Orchids she carried a bouquet of white ,chrysanthemums and dahlias. The bride was attended by her ! sisters Misises Lorna & Millie Luke' who wore frocks alike of marina blue and shell pink of stiffened- oyer taffetas carrying posies to match. Mr A. Watson and Mr Hail performed ithe duties of best mar. and > groomsman, respectively. Following; .... the ceremony the guests Were ed by Mr and Mrs Luke. Mrs I nke\. was becomingly attired in a frock of Pet una wool georgette, relieved with cream and carried a posy of autuvun flowers to tone. The wedding breakfast was held iii a marquee erected for the occasion on the lawn, -the tables .verc taste- . fully decorated with chrysanthemums and dahlias. Many congratulatory telegrams were received rt»ad . The bride and bride groom-' left for a motor tour of the North Island the bride wearing a navy striped costume with ha,t and accessories to match and a grey fox fur the gift of the bridegroom. ■
