Sir,-—lt was mj- intention when in YVhakatane establishing a branch of the Xcw Zealand Terr'torifiji Association to onen a Register of all Avho would volunteer their serv : ces to the country in ense of national emsr gency but on my bing ove* whelmed with the rush of recruits for the Territorial to rn-'st. I wasf quite unable to do it. Now I would appreciate it very much if ■such a Register could be opened immediately and in response to this appeal. I therefore appeal to rll who nrc; elig'ble—men and wom°n, youths and to hand in their names and addresses, age, and the service they would be willing and able to ofl'er—be it driving, sowing (making bandages), etc. cooking, nurs. ing or secretarial etc. et-<, transport, enginee'ing, telgTphists and so on—as early as possible to the Town Clerk of Whak t n?. Many of my audience at Thursday " night's meeting w re re dy to comply with this suggestion and I must apologise to them for not having anticipated the success of the meeting as. far as recu'ting was concerned, and made arrangements accordingly. Once again a 1 low me to stress the importance of immediate preparedness and wa'n every holy that uiv less this resfi« t ration is made now it will be too late,. Sincerely from, H. J. GILLMORE, Cant. -
