RUGBY REPORT AND BALANCE SHEET SMALL LOSS SHOWN "Once again the Rangitaiki subunion demonstrated its supremacy by withstanding all challenges for the shield,'' said the President of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union, Mr W. T. Burrett, in his annual report on the past season, presented at the meeting of the Bay Union last Satur. day. "Rangitaiki's retention of the shield establishes a remarkable record upon which theyi are to heartily congratulated. Believing that their action would encourage football, not only in their own territory, but throughout the Bay generally Rangitaiki sportingly requested the Bay Union to accept the return of the shield. All sub-unions were circularised with the and as no objections were received the executive has accepted the return of the shield and granted Rangitaiki the last challenge of ttie forthcoming season.'' After reference to the Bay's successes during the season Mr Burrett mentioned that the union had been congratulated by the hosts of the team on its southern tour on the! splendid behaviour of the men.
