CENTENNIAL MEMORIALS
—o RAISING OF FUNDS "The question of funds is exercising the minds of committees concerned with Centennial memorials,'' remarks the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal AfTairs ? in "New Zealand Centennial News." ''They ; know that a Government subsidy of £1 for every £3 raised locally is avail able for approved memorials, an.i they are hoping for a good response from the public. bodies are expected to make reasonable grants, but there is a limit to their generosity. There will be plenty of scopo for direct subscriptions from various organisations and individuals. After all, any New Zealander should feel proud to give something towards a Centennial memorial.''
