MUSTER OF COUNCILLORS
o f Apologies for absence from C'r C. S. Armstrong and Cr F. Prideaux were received at Monday night's meeting of the Whakatane Borough. Council. As Cr S. S. Shapley and Cr A. Hal] were also away on leave of absence there were gaps around the council table. However, Or Prideaux joined the party later. Those present at the opening of the meeting were: The Mayor, Mr B. .S. Barry, Crs W. Sullivan, J. Arres A. J. Canning, C. G. G. Otley and the clerk, Mr U. V. Saunders. It was not a long meeting, -ending at 9.30 p.m., ancl it was a happy one, with an occasional amusing passage.of-anns between Cr Canning and Cr Sullivan to help things along.
