Wednesday, November 10, 1875. (Before Major Roberts, R.M.) Firth TVTigloy v. J. Delaney : Claim 11s, balance owing for goods supplied to defendant as secretary to tlio Taupo Institute. Judgment for plaintiff for full amount with costs. Edgcuinbe v. T. Morrison: Claim £3 6s. for amount owing to tho Bay op Plenty Times. There was no appearance of defendant. A sum of £3 paid on account had been handed into Court. Judgment for plaintiff for balance of account and costs (£2 IDs). Matutaeru v. James Montgomery — for striking tho complainant in the Masonic Hotel. Defendant admitted having struck the plaintiff, but considered he was quite justified in doing so under tho circumstances of tho case. Tho Court haying heard the evidence fined tho defendant 20s and costs. Ranapia v. Gregory: Claim£4 10s, damages done to hush tho property of tho plaintiff. Defendant did not admit the claim, and, as the plaintiff was found to ho rather the worse for liquor, and thereby unable to give his evidence, the Court ruled that he would bo considered absent, and would have to pay defendant’s expenses for his attendance at Court —the case to bo heard next Court day.
