TOWN BOARD: MEETING YESTERDAY.

A meeting- of the members of the Town Board was hold yesterday morning. Present : All the members except Mr Samuels. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. DEAXN PITE3. Mr Cardno’s account for drain pipes (£3 Is) was passed for payment.

The Chairman stated that he had again written to hia Honor the Superintendent, requesting a reply to the Board’s communication on this subject, but had received no answer. Ho had also telegraphed to Captain Morris, but no reply was yet to hand.

Mr Wrigley thought that Captain Morris was waiting for some definite action on the part of the Provincial authorities.

On the motion of Mr Norris, seconded by Mr Wrigley, the Secretary was instructed to write again to the Superintendent, asking if the first letter from the Board, having reference to the office and shed on the wharf, had been received by him.

AUDITING ACCOUNTS. Mr Norris thought it would not be legal for Mr McCaw, who was a contractor under the Board, to audit the next annual accounts.

SOWING GRASS SEED ON PUBLIC ROADS. Sir Conway proposed, and Mr Norris seconded, that the Chairman be requested to confer with Captain Turner regarding the desirability of sowing go« sa seed on the road now being formed from the beach. Carried. MESSRS HAEVBT AND KtRK. A letter was read from Messrs Uarvey and Kirk asking permission to erect a verandah in front of their new premises now being built on the Beach Road.
