Sheehan has given notice that on going into committe of supply he would move a resolution respecting the Agent-General’s mismanagement. At a meeting of Ministerial supporters to-night, proposals will be made to introduce a property tax into Dower House, and, if the measure is thrown out by Upper House, Ministers will appeal to the country.

Meeting ot Ministerial Supporters. Tlie Situation. Forty-seven members met at Mr Vogel's caucus this afternoon. Forty-four pledged themselves to support the Government in present action. It was decided to send up Provincial .Loans Bill separately, retaining ail provincial features of former Bill, but striking out rating clauses. The intention is to test question whether .Lords will allow provinces to borrow. If the Lords will not support this. Government will introduce pro* perty tux, rating all descriptions of property, and will endeavour to raise further loans on security of property tax. Property under £SOO will be excluded. If Upper House reject this measure Government will appeal to the Home Government for power to reconstruct Upper House.
