MK> BOOTH has much pleasure in announcing that the PICTURES and PHOTOGRAPHS to be distributed on the Art Union principle are now ON VIEW at the MECHANICS’ INSTITUTE. The PRIZES number 52, for which an equal number of Tickets will be issued —thus securing a Pbize poe Each Ticket. The DRAWING for the Prizes will be under the supervision of the following gentlemen, who have kindly consented to act as a Committee:— Captains Tunks and Crapp, Messrs Edgeumbe and Penny, and Dr Armitago ; and will take place on SATURDAY, September 6th proximo, at 3 o’clock p.m., in the Mechanics’ Institute. The first prize will be that handsome steel Engraving, framed, “The Play Ground;” the second and third prizes, handsome Chromolithographs of Indian scenes ; 4th, sth, 6th, and ?th prizes, framed Photographs ; and prizes from S to 52 inclusive consist of beautifully finished Photos, of bas-reliefs, paintings, and engravings of famous Biblical, Historical, Classical, Pastoral, Marine, and Portrait Pictures. All Prizes and No Blanks.
Tickets, Hale-a-Guinea Each, may be had from Messrs Ball, ISTorris, Samuels, Asher, any Member of the Committee, the Office of the Bax of Plenty Times, and the Librarian of the Mechanics* Institute.
