Sib, —-As fulsome adulation, when under - the cover of a nora do plume, is considered the peculiar 'property of a love-sick girl, I think I mn not wrong ia supposing that your correspondent “Finis” belongs to what is commonly called the weaker sex. At the risk of being thought ungallant, I will, with your permission, make a few remarks on that young lady’s effusion. Womanlike, she never attempts to answer a charge, but writes a lot of rigmarole not all to the point. As Mias “Finis” appears to bo in his confidence, perhaps she would kindly inform me if it is the correct thing to summons a man for non-attendance at a Militia parade, without previously intimating to him that ho had boon struck off the strength of the Volunteers. At least, she cannot deny but that such has been done here. If this satirical young lady could induce her darling to exert himself more in the police department of his duties, something might then bo known of more than one curious matter which has occurred in our midst.
