Warning Given Of New British Fire Bomb U.P.A. and British Wireless Rec. 1 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 27. The Moscow radio has announced that the Russian Air Force, in difficult weather on Wednesday night bombed military and industrial objectives in Berlin, Danzig, Koenigsberg, Stettin, Tilsit and other towns in eastern, north-eastern and central Germany. Nine large fires were started in both Berlin and Danzig and ten fires and explosions at Koenigsberg. Fires and explosions were observed in the other target areas. All of the raiders returned to their bases.

The Frankfurter Zeitung issues a warning against what it calls the new British incendiaries, which explode about five minutes after they are dropped and can only be put out from behind stone walls. The newspaper also warns the population to store sufficient food in raid shelters for several days and also bedding and birth certificates. It is announced from Berlin that the Luftwaffe last night bombed Colchester. R.A.F. Raid on Abbeville The Air Ministry states: "Soon after midday a squadron of Bostons escorted by a strong force of fighters bombed the German airfield at Abbeville. Bursts were seen on the runways and in the dispersal areas. One Boston was hit by anti-aircraft fire and lost one member of its crew, who was killed. The other two, who were wounded, were rescued from the sea. "The fighters had combats with enemy fighters. Three enemy machines were destroyed. Nine ot our fighters are missing." Without the loss of a single plane R.A.F. Spitfires escorted Lnited States bombers on a daylight raid on Rotterdam late this afternoon. Flying Fortresses dropped bombs on two ships and other targets ashore. This was the third bomber-fightei offensive reported bv our planes aeainst the enemy defences to-dav. Hurricane bombers, escorted by Spitfires, many of which were flown by American Eagle pilots, also raided targets in enemy-occupied countries.
