FENCING WIRE SUPPLIES

A control order has been gazetted whereby farmers or other persons requiring supplies of plain fencing wire after to-day, August 27, must comply with certain conditions which have been outlined to fields division officers of the Agriculture Department and to primary production councils.
The Minister of Marketing, Mr Barclay, said retailers will be entitled to sell plain fencing wire in quantities not exceeding scwt, without authority, but for quantities in excess of this it will be necessary for an inteftding purchaser-user to make application on the prescribed form. Applications for farmine purposes will be dealt with by I L l s t , cour l9il s °£ Primary production and for other than farming purposes by the fencing materials associations « Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
The Minister added that farmers who had been holding wire for defence purposes may now put it to its normal use. v Ilu
