A message from Berne, quoting the Paris Soir, states that supplies of fats are 40,000 tons short of the French ration. Farmers have been compelled to relinquish 95 per cent of their butter to the communal collection. _ „ . The Geneva paper La Suisse says that French children, arriving there, average nearly 101b under normal weight and more than 3in below normal height, which is equivalent to one year behind normal development.
