CHURCH AND COMMUNITY
The Rev. C. W. Chandler is again airing his dissatisfaction with those who, equally with him. are concerned that the church should give an adequate lead in the community and are seeking to do something constructive about their concern. No Christian leader is complacent about the weaknesses within the church, but some of us believe that it is a great deal easier to build up a straw man and knock him down publicly than it is to give some real thought and effort to the task of remedying the weaknesses. For this reason we are behind the present campaign for Christian Order. Mr. Chandler prefers the more spectacular but less effective method. It would be much more worthy of Mr. Chandler to participate in the months of internal attack on the very weaknesses he so ably publicises, which are at present preceding the public portion of the campaign. \\\ S.
