MAY NOT RACE AGAIN
All Love, crack Australian two-year-old of last season and winner of £6000 in stakes, may not race again. She refused to take part in a race at Randwlck recently, her behaviour being so deliberate that her trainer fears she has a permanent aversion to racing. All Love was the best two-year-old of last season, with success in the Glmcrack Stakes, Maribyrnong Plate, Byron Moore Stakes, Alma Stakes, V R.C. Sires' Produce Stakes, and Champagne Stakes. In the A.J.C. Sires' Produce Stakes she was beaten half a head by Yaralla. In winning the Alma Stakes with 9.6 she ran the six furlongs in 1.10 up the Flemington straight, which was claimed as a world record for a two-year-old Her only success this season as a three-year-old was in the Hobartville Stakes last August, In which she beat Yaralla. She has run badly In every race since.
NOT ENTERED THIS YEAR
Last year the Grand National double was won by Astral Flame and The Dozer. Neither was entered for this year's contests. Astral Flame hurt himself by a fall on the road, and The Dozer is under a cloud. The Dozer made the 1941 Grand National Hurdles the poorest in the history of the race. He won by four lengths from Tidewaiter. which was nearly 150 yards in front of Pekoe. Esperance Bay was 50 yards further back, with another gap to King Rey.
