CLEARING SALE AT TAUPIRI
The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co . Ltd., report:—At a clearing sale at Taupiri on Wednesday, on account of the estate A. H. Waring, very buoyant demand existed for the herd of 75 dairy cows, which came forward in good condition. Buyers were present from Auckland and surrounding districts, and under steady competition values advanced to £16. the whole htrd. including a number of unsound and backward cows, averaging the satisfactory price of £9 15/. Heifers also sold readily at £11 s'. Quotations:—Young Friesian dairy cows, early calvers. Sl2 10/ to £16; young Shorthorn cows, close to profit. £11 10/ to £14; other Friesian and Shorthorn cows, £9 5/ to £11; young Jersey and Jersey Cross dairy cows. £9 15/ to £14 15/; aged cows. £8 5/ to £10 10/; backward cows. £7 ;s to £8 10/; unsound cows, £5 5/ to £6 s'; Shorthorn heifers, £9 5/ to £11 5/; Jersey heifers £8 5/ to £10 15/.
