POULTRY MARKETS
At yesterday's auctions the supply of poultry was medium and the demand was keen. The prices paid remained the same. Selling rates were: Cockerels, heavy breeds, prime. 7/ to 10/ each; not prime. 5/ each; light breeds, prime, 5/ to 6/ each; fat roosters, light breeds. 7/ to 8/6. Fat hens, heavy breeds, 5/ to 7/ each. Laying hens, light breeds, 5/ to 10/ each. Pullets, heavy breeds, best, 4/ to 7/6 each; smaller, 6/ to 8/ each; light breeds, best, 5/ up; smaller, 6/ each. Drakes, young, prime, 5/ each; smaller. 6/ to 7/ each.
