HUNT CLUB MEETING ADINA WINS HURDLES (P.A.) TIMAEU, this* day. The South Canterbury Hunt Onb meeting was held to-day in ffrw» weather and with the track in good condition. Adina Wins as Hurdler Adina made a successful start as a hurdler when he made short work of the opposition in the Hadlow Hack Hurdles, leading throughout and winning easily from Donadea and Distress Signal. Heidelberg and Bow Street were slow at the start, and Adina made the running from Marcus Cicero, Donadea, Bow Street, Phalanx and Ferriby. With half a mile to run, however, Adina was three lengths in front of Donadea, with a gap back to Ferriby, Phalanx, Marcus Cicero and Bow Street Though Donadea was hard ridden, Adina held him off by three lengths while five lengths back Distress Signal beat Knight Commander by a head. Phalanx was a poor fifth, with Ferriby and Gluecos next to finish. Results were:— HADLOW HACK AND HUNTERS' HURDLES at £130. One mile and a half.
