WASTE COLLECTION

SCHOOL RECEPTION DEPOTS

All the schools under the Education Board and the Grammar School Board in the portion of the metropolitan area that lies on the south side of the Waitemata Harbour are acting as reception depots for waste paper (other than greaseproof paper, carbon paper and celophane), and for rubber articles other than vulcanised rubber articles. Householders unable to deliver waste paper and rubber to the Metropolitan Waste Reclamation Committee's depot at 55, Customs Street East (open Mondays to Fridays) are asked to contact the nearest school child.

The possibility of establishing depots in the suburbs is being explored by the Waste Reclamation Committee.
