CITY COLLISION

AMBULANCE AND TRUCK

Two people were injured when a collision occurred between a St. John Ambulance and a truck of the Works Department of the Auckland City Council shortly before 1 o'clock this afternoon. They were:—

Miss Lilian Edna Shepherd, aged 38, of Nixon Avenue, Otahuhu, a Red Cross Transport driver, who was a passenger in the ambulance. Mr. Albert Hamilton, aged 36. married, of 45, Valley Road, the truck driver. Both were admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from concussion. The accident occurred at the intersection of Princes Street and Bowen Avenue. The ambulance was turning into Bowen Avenue, preparatory to picking up a patient, and the truck, which was empty, was proceeding up Bowen Avenue when the collision took place. The driver of the ambulance, Mr. J. H. Thornton, was not seriously injured.
