MARRIAGE BY PROXY
CONSIDERATION BY COMMONS

Mr. Herbert Morrison, Home Secretary, revealed in the House of Commons that the Service Departments are considering a suggestion that special legislation should be introduced enabling members of the forces to marry by proxy. "Whether the advantages of such a change of the marriage laws will outweigh the disadvantages has required careful consideration," he said.
