BEAULIVRE RETURNING
Rec. 9.30 a.m. SYDNEY, this day. Beaulivre is to be sent back to New Zealand at the earliest opportunity. His owner, Mr. E. C. Harnett, will endeavour to arrange for Beaulivre to take up stud duty at one of the leading breeding establishments in the Dominion. An endeavour has been made to have Beaulivre's dam, Sharkey, included in the Australian studbook, but the entry has been refused. Although many colonial lines are untraceable but accepted for inclusion in the Australian stud-book, the line of Sharkey is not one of them. Sharkey and her descendants are, however, accepted by the New Zealand stud-book. Any of Beaulivre's progeny born in New Zealand will be arcepted by the New Zealand studbook and may be nominated for and race in the Australian Jockey Club Derby, but none of his progeny born in Australia could be nominated for the Derby.
