DAY OF RECKONING

Nazis Will Be Held Strictly

Accountable

JEWISH MASS MEETING

Rec. 10.30 WASHINGTON, July 22

President Roosevelt sent a message to a mass meeting in Madison Square Garden that the American people will hold the Nazis strictly accountable for crimes of oppression on the inevitable day of reckoning. The gathering was convened by the American Jewish Congress Labour Committee and demonstrated against Hitler's atrocities.

The crowd also heard a message from Mr. Churchill, in which he hailed the contribution of Jewish communities all over the world to the United Nations' cause. He also emphasised the eager support which the Jews in Palestine were already giving. Mr. Churchill revealed that many Palestine Jews were serving with the British Middle East forces and others had enrolled in police groups in mandated areas.
