DRIED MEAT
GOOD REPORTS Possibilities For Dominion Produce Rec. noon. LONDON, July 21. Dehydrated meat from New Zealand, Australia and South America is expected to reach Britain before the end of the year. Reports from caterers, who are handling a sample of 10 tons from the United States, have been so satisfactory that the Ministry of Food is pressing overseas factories to take up contracts for more dehydrated meat. In this form meat takes up half the space of the most condensed meat. The saving in shipping space may induce the Ministry of Food to extend dried meat distribution from caterers to the general public. English plants are at present dehydrating vegetables on a large scale. Dehydrated vegetables will be sent to overseas troops before the end of the year.
