CLOTHES FOR RUSSIANS
The citizens of Wellington recently made a fine response to the appeal for winter clothing for Russian refugees. This appeal, I understand, was under the auspices of the Lady Galway Guild, and was directed by the Mayoress of Wellington. Is there any reason why Auckland should not do something tangible for the afflicted Russian folk, who, homeless, bereaved but undaunted, face the rigours of another winter? With the possibility of an early move by Japan against Siberia, any help contemplated should be given promptly. I believe many people here, as in Wellington, would like to assist. There is, of course, the difficulty of shipping, but this did not deter action in Wellington.
